Beautiful & Untranslatable: Words from Around the World

English has been one of the most prominent languages spoken around the world for decades, and continues to have the highest number of learners than any other language.

While English increases in popularity, there are words and phrases commonly found in various other languages that will never be directly translatable. We’re here to celebrate these beautiful, silly, and often elaborate expressions that hold importance to their respective cultures.

Italian is well-known for being a rich and romantic language. However, this term is a bit more on the dismissive side – while it literally translates to “reheated cabbage,” the phrase describes the attempt we  make to rekindle a bad relationship.
